Swami Aseshananda is a prominent disciple of Sri Sarada Devi or the Holy Mother, wife of Swami Ramkrishna Paramhamsa. He was born on 10 July 1989 in Faridpur, Bangladesh (currently India). At an early age, he joined St. Paul's Cathedral Mission College in Calcutta to study philosophy. The Holy Mother blessed him with the initiation in 1917, and further, Swami Aseshananda joined Sri Ramakrishna Order in 1921. He followed the path of Brahmacharya from Swami Brahmananda in 1922 and took his final vows of Sanyasa in 1923 from Swami Saradananda. Through his constant worship, public outreach, positive energy, and immense knowledge of spiritual lives, Swami Aseshananda became one of the best promoters of Sanatan Dharma in the 19th and 20th centuries.
His teachings affected the lives of countless Hindus by providing them with the right path to follow their religion. According to Swami Aseshananda, Sri Ramakrishna and Sri Sarada Devi are the highest teachers and ideal for him. Swami Aseshananda served as a private secretary to Swami Saradananda from 1921 to 1927. For a short period, Swami worked in the Vedanta Society of Boston and later went to the Vedanta Society of Southern California for five years.
He served Swami Prabhavananda as his assistant at the monastery at Trabuco. After Swami Aseshanandan has sent to the West of the globe, Swami never returned to his homeland, India. From 1955 till his death, he lived in Portland, serving as Minister-in-charge. Terrance D. Hohner compiled the thoughts and teachings of Swami Aseshananda and his Holy Associations in a book titled The ABCs of Spiritual Life. Swami Aseshananda took his last breath in 1996 in Portland, Oregon, USA.
