Born in Mattancherry, Kerala, India, Umbayee’s real name is Ibrahim. Umbayee was a folk music composer and a singer, specialized in ghazal music and songs. His life was not very easy as he failed his school exams, but his father noticed his interest in singing and music. Therefore, his father decided to send Umbayee to Mumbai to pursue his field of interest. Umbayee, in his learning days, went to Ustad Munawar Ali Khan, who nurtured him and made him a legendary singer. He practiced for seven years with his master before stepping into the industry. Some of his famous songs are Katte Nee Veesharuthippol released in 2014, and Pranasakhee released in 2013. Umbayee songs and music are available on YouTube Music, Spotify, Jio Saavan, and Gaana. He died on 1 August 2018.
