Amritha Meera Vijayan is a Malayalam film actress who has steadily earned a reputation for herself in the industry. Born on 9 January 1990 in the municipality of Koyilandy in Kozhikode (Calicut), Kerala, she is the elder daughter of the Nair family of K.Vijayan and P.G. Meera.
Her younger brother, Anoop Meera Vijayan, is a lieutenant in the Indian Air Force. She studied at St. Thomas Public School, Bangalore and later at Jyoti Nivas College, Bangalore. She completed her BSc. and MSc. Degrees in the Electronics stream from Mount Carmel College in Bangalore and began working as an IT engineer in Cognizant Technological Solutions.
At the age of five, Amritha Meera began learning classical dance forms and specialized in Bharatanatyam. Over the years, while working in Bangalore as an IT engineer for three years, she had recorded several dance videos and had received many awards for her dance performances. On watching one of her videos, a friend had suggested to her to meet with the eminent director,

The comedy-drama film was co-produced by Abrid Shine. It was released on 4 February 2016 and was a huge commercial success. The drama thriller film revolves around the life of Biju Poulose, a sub-inspector in Cochin, who has left his job as a teacher to serve in the police force and hunt down notorious criminals. Having had prior experience shooting for her dance videos, Amritha was comfortable with being in front of the camera and did not feel scared.
However, she admitted in an interview that although she was quite nervous to work with Nivin Pauly, it was an amazing experience for her. Amritha Meera also played a prominent role in the short film, Mea Culpa, an anthology of three stories. She played the female lead in one of the stories. It was directed by Akhil Jose, who made his debut with the Malayalam short film.
Amritha had started shooting for both Action Hero Biju and Mea Culpa simultaneously in 2015. She considered it to be a novel experience. In the same year, Amritha Meera spoke about her third project, in which reputed Malayalam film actor, Biyon, would play the male lead.
Amritha Meera has yet to decide whether she will quit her job as an IT professional for her career in the Malayalam film industry. She wants to continue with her dance performances alongside shooting films. She considers her best experience in Mollywood to have been able to work with Mammootty for a photo shoot.
