Anu Elizabeth Jose

Anu Elizabeth Jose is a lyricist who works in the Malayalam film Industry. She was born in Alappuzha district to Jose Savior and Mariyamma Jose and studied at St.Joseph’s school.

Her father worked as a regional manager at Oriental Insurance. After her father’s transfer, she moved to Kochi, where she completed her higher secondary from Vidyodaya School. It was in the final year at Federal Institute of Science and Technology Angamaly where she did her undergraduate, that she took to writing songs.

From there, she’s gone on to write more than 25 songs for a dozen movies. It is a huge accomplishment considering the very limited number of women lyricists in Mollywood.

In one of the interviews, she’s described at length how she had never dreamt of working in movies and that it was entirely, an opportunity presenting itself more than anything else. In 2016, she once again teamed up with Sachin Warrier for the Blockbuster movie, Aanandam, in which she was the lyricist for ‘Nilavil Ellame’ and ‘Rathivilaasam’ making a name for herself in the industry. She’s also been a part of the Sunrisers National Anthem. After Aanandam, she announced that she was bidding goodbye to Films and has since worked in Tata Consultancy Services.
