Remiz Bashir

Remiz Bashir is a writer and director based in Kochi, Kerala. He has studied Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) in Computer Science at St. Alberts College, Kochi. In 2009, he started his career as a manager at Emirates Creative Blog Cleaning Services LLC, Dubai, UAE. Thereafter, Operations Manager at TAQLLC, Sharjah, UAE. Soon, he developed an interest in filmmaking and started working as an Assistant Director in the Malayalam Film Industry.

As an assistant director, Remiz worked on his debut movie called Popcorn. It was an adventure comedy about a guy, Kinder, who comes to Kerala to search for his love but meets Sharon who is in pursuit of her absconding boyfriend, and offers him money if he assists her. After the success of Popcorn, Remiz did two more projects as assistant director - Satante Manushyavakasa Premeyam (2017) and Janaki Jaane (2023).

Remiz made his directorial debut with a short movie, Boyhood, released in 2019, and starring Jenzith A.J., Mashal A.J., Zaneem Babu, and Famiya, among others. Remiz also wrote the script of this movie, which also marks his debut as a writer in the Malayalam Film Industry.
