Nishad Hassan, the Malayali director, rose to fame with his debut movie itself. Viplavam Jayikanullathanu is the longest uncut movie. The movie got a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the first single-shot movie with nearly 2 hours duration. Hasan said he faced financial constraints during his debut film and thus decided to make it a single-shot movie. This shows how he can innovate and tackle challenging situations.
Before making Viplavam Jayikanullathanu, Hasan made a 29-minute live-shot project that had just ten days of rehearsal. This was his stepping stone towards moving away from traditional rules and using an innovative approach. Despite the challenges during his debut, Nishad did not let his storytelling compromise. The film had both political drama and a romantic angle intertwined. Some of his work includes "Sambavam Arambam" and "Soochi".
