DV Mohan Krishna is a famous Carnatic classical vocalist from Andhra Pradesh. He is successful in his field for the past twenty years. He is not blind by birth inspite lost his eye sight at the final year of his B.COM degree because of Conjunctivitis. In addition to music, he also had a hobby of reading books. He learned music by the inspiration of international vocalist, Vaggeyakara. He mentioned that the biggest blessing in his life is guru Dr. Bala Murali Krishna.
HIS FIRST PERFORMANCE:
He gave his first stage performance at the age of twelve, conducted by Sri Tyagaraja Vidyapeetam, Machilipatnam. It was established and run by his first guru Sri SistuPrabhakara Krishna Murthy Sastry. Even at his first stage performance, he didn’t experience any fear and performed casually, and for that, he received huge applause from the audience side, he mentioned. In 1978, the first time he enjoyed the live concert by Guru Sri Mangalam Palli Bala Murali Krishna Garu. AWARDS: 1980 – First prize in all India level classical music competition conducted by All India Radio. 2004 – Parupalli Ramakrishnayya Pantulu award by Madras Vipanchi Mission.
ABOUT MUSIC:
He addresses that fine arts like music is not an ordinary job; it needs more concentration and dedication. People want to get inspired by our performance and talent, he mentioned. And also, he never thought blindness as a defect because it doesn’t disturb his career as music needs only uniqueness and concentration, not a visual effect. Music is a gift given to us by our ancestors with unique style and tradition and, he says I want to cover all age groups of the audience by my performance so that my performance will vary according to the people in the concert.It will not be the same to all. He tries to give his utmost performance without changing the traditional values of Carnatic music.
