Shanti Bhushan is an Indian writer who has worked extensively in the Hindi film industry. Growing up, his father encouraged him to take up different forms of art and perfect them. His childhood interests included painting and later, poetry. Bhushan moved to Varanasi, Lucknow, and Allahabad, to study and gain experience in different sectors of media. In Allahabad, he began taking part in theatre. His plays were showcased on national platforms, and he was even awarded Best Director, Writer, and Actor for his work.

During this time, he also wrote dramas to be broadcast on All India Radio. Bhushan later moved to Mumbai to be a part of its cinematic core. While his main intention had been to direct films, he found his talent lay in scriptwriting. He began writing for a documentary on Doordarshan, and his next project was a Bhojpuri movie called ‘Saathi Sangaathi’ for which he scripted the dialogues. He won ‘Best Dialogue Writer’ at the Bhojpuri film awards for this work. His first TV show was ‘Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigyaa’ in 2009. The success of the show propped him up as one of TV’s best writers. He went on to write for other dramas like ‘Rishton Se Badi Pratha (2010)’ and ‘Ishq Ka Rang Safed (2015).’

Bhushan was also the scriptwriter for the 2017 thriller-drama movie ‘ Mirza Juuliet Click to look into! >> Read More... .’ He has been working as a freelancing writer in Hindi media for over two decades. He won the Golden Petal Award for Best Story in the Fiction Category. He was also nominated for the ‘Indian Telly Jury Award for Best Story Writer’ and ‘Indian Telly Jury Award for Best Dialogue Writer’ in a drama series.
