Sandeep Silas

Sandeep Silas is a versatile writer and poet. His creativity to think and make something special has made him what he is today. He is widely recognized for his project-“Garland Peace,” which was to declare all war ruins/sites in the world as Peace Heritage Sites, with the UN, to take further another step towards peacebuilding, peace education & peace tourism around the world.

This artist was born and brought up in India. He was born on 19th September 1960 in Agra, India. In 1976, he did his schooling at St. Peter’s College, Agra, and later, he finished his graduation, majored in history from the college St. John’s, Agra. Further, In 1984 he joined the Civil Services in India. Being a British Chevening Scholar, he learned “Strategic Management” at Manchester Business School, Manchester, UK. He graduated from the foremost School of Public Affairs in the United States in the year 2008. Additionally, he has also released his music albums, and one of the famous ones is “IBADAT-E-ISHQ,” which the TIMES MUSIC launched out. Besides his interest in writing, he has a history of working in numerous departments in seven Ministries of the Government of India, for instance, Railways, Statistics & Programme Implementation, Youth Affairs & Sports, Overseas Indian Affairs, Tourism & Culture, and Labour & Employment. Functioning as a public information specialist, he conceptualized the year-long country-wide massive function of India's 150th Year of Railways.

Accordingly, he was the person behind making the first-ever mobile science exhibition on railways in the whole world, the 12-coach Vigyan Rail, flagged off by the great Prime Minister of India on 15th December 2003.
