Rahman Abbas is a renowned writer, born on 30 January 1972. He did a master's in Urdu and English. Rahman’s work was acknowledged nationally and worldwide. Rahman was the first-ever Indian author whose work received a Lit Prom Grant in German, financed by German Federal Foreign Office and the Swiss-South Cultural Fund. In respect of Rahman’s plethora of renditions to Indian literature, the Government of India, in 2018, awarded him the Sahitya Akademi Award, one of the most prestigious fictional awards in India, for his novel Rohzin.

Rahman was also honored with two State Academy Awards for his novels like Hiding and Seek in the Shadow of God and Rohzin. Rahman’s first novel, Nakhalistan Ki Talash, raised controversy from fundamentalists, and he was jailed for the same. But was released soon. A few of his other novels are Ek Mamnua Muhabbat Ki Kahani and Khuda Ke Saaye Mein. Rahman’s novels revolve around forbidden politics and love.
