Chandu Shah, or Chandrakant Shah Chandra Kant Shah was Born in 1956, Chandra Kant S >> Read More... , born in 1956, is a Boston-based Gujarati poet, playwright, journalist, actor, director, and producer. Shah was born in a small village in Gujarat and brought up in Bombay. In 1984, he shifted to the US. In addition to being an artist, Shah runs professional services and consulting firm – S4. Inc – in the US. He did his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Commerce from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics. Shah is married to Eshani Shah, daughter of Taarak Mehata, a famous Gujarati columnist, humorist, and writer.

He has two children – twins Kushaan and Shailee. Chandu Shah authored Ane Thoda Sapna and Blue Jeans, books of poetry. He has also written several plays in Gujarati, like Eva Mumbai Ma Chal Jaiye, Master Phoolmani, Kabro, Khelaiya, and Ek Hati Rupali. The Gujarati Sahitya Parishad awarded Shah’s first book of poetry, Ane Thoda Sapna, the Best Collection of New Gujarati Poems, published in 1992-1993.

His poems, especially in Gujarati, have a conversational style, are creative, and have exceptional fluency. His works of poetry were used as textbooks for master’s students at the University of Mumbai's SNDT College. Shah, a frequent traveler to India, performs a variety of poetry recitals across the nation at the request of various cultural institutions. Shah is an excellent theatre artist and has written several plays. His entry into theatre occurred during his college days with the assistance of Bombay's Prithvi Theatre. Shah also organizes Gujarati plays in Canada and the US and is the national sponsor of Gujarati plays.
