Anjana Sood is a writer, who is considered a legend in the world of Indian soap opera writing. Hailing from Kashmir, Anjana first got the taste of writing when she was in 11th standard and wrote a play called Subah and Sham. This was a play she wrote for a local school theatre and the story she wrote was amazingly mature for someone her age. Anjana decided to pursue writing and literature and got her degree. She then started working for Doordarshan and local theatre groups where she went on to script many playwrights which were also broadcasted on Doordarshan.
Later, she finally came into the spotlight when she wrote Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, the absolute monster TV hit show which is still holding the records for the highest viewership in Indian TV history. Another one of her monster shows were Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki. Both shows had almost a similar premise of Indian culture and dramas at joint families and yet people were absolutely glued at the screens to watch the show. She worked on Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki for 8 years, writing more than 650 episodes and winning many awards.
