Nim Sood is a costume designer, writer and producer who works in the Hindi TV industry. She is the aunt of Tushar and Ekta Kapoor Ekta Kapoor; a legendry producer in Indian TV and >> Read More... , Sister in law of the legendary actor Jeetendra, and sister of Shibha Kapoor. Nim is the lady who is responsible for iconic makeup, looks and clothing of some of the most popular characters in Indian TV history like Tulsi, Parvati, Komolia and Mihir. Nim began her career surprisingly in the aviation industry, when she started working as an air hostess with British Airways.

She worked as an air hostess for some 7 good years and in an interview she claimed that it was during that time she was really getting into fashion. She would travel all over the world and got inspiration to work in fashion industry or design costumes. She started to get fabrics and clothing designs from all over the world, and whenever she used to wear a totally unique dress she would get amazing compliments from everyone, and it was that time when she had left her job and she was back in Mumbai.

Little by little, she started to design clothes for her friends and later on that grew into her taking orders for new and unique designs. Later, she ended up opening her own store which was called Private Collections, and the store was an instant success. She got more work for herself than she could handle and hence her business continued to grow. where she needed a costume designer. That’s when Shobha approached Nim for work and Nim ended up taking her first steps in the world of TV costume design, in an interview Nim even claimed that it was her biggest learning experience where she would sit on the sets of the show since morning to night and observe what fashion needs to be implied upon on these shows.

Then came Balaji productions, this is when her work blew up and she became quite a celebrity when she started working with Ekta Kapoor, she started working for Balaji with ‘Hum Paanch’, a mega blockbuster TV serial where Nim was first recognized as a celebrity costume designer, and later she went on to work on the most famous Balaji shows like Kasauti ZIndagi Ki, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and other legendary shows.
