Kapil Sharma was born in a small town of Amritsar, Punjab on 2 April, 1981. He is a comedian, television presenter as well as film actor. From his childhood, he was fond of acting and he always wanted to become an actor and a comedian but his childhood dream was to be a singer. Kapil Sharma is among one who has unlimited talent, ideal timing and incredible sense of humor. 

Kapil Sharma started his career with reality and comedy show. In the beginning Kapil Sharma has struggled a lot. He has participated in many reality shows and has started his career in comedy genre by participating in ' Ustaadon Ka Ustaad' a reality show in the year 2008, comedy circus, Chhote Miyan, Hans Baliya. Kapil won Comedy Circus Ke Taansen and participated on comedy show Comedy Circus Ka Naya Daur with his partner Shweta Tiwari and was the winner of the show. He also hosted the 1st Punjabi International Film Awards, Toronto. He is also a great singer and showed his talent in Star Ya Rockstar.

Kapil Sharma has established his own production house named K9 Productions. He has launched his recent show “Comedy Nights-With Kapil” under his production house. This show earned popularity over the night. He also co-hosted the Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 6 with Manish Paul. Not only in television shows, but Kapil has also appeared in many Hindi movies. He started acting from the year 2002. On that time, he played a role in the movie ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’. After that, he started appearing in many other films such as ‘Ab TumhareHawaleWatanSathiyo’ in 2004, ‘Dunno Y… Na JaaneKyun’ in 2010, ‘BhavnaokoSamjho’ in 2010, ‘ Chennai Express’ in 2013, and ‘ Black Currency’ in the same year.

In December 2013, Kapil was ranked 93rd in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list. He was honored with CNN-IBN Indian of the Year award in entertainment category in the year 2013. He has also co-hosted the IFAA awards and Zee Cine Awards with Soumya on Zee TV in 2013.
