Devarsh Thakkar

Devarsh Thakkar, a former Indian child artist who appeared in several commercials and Hindi language television shows, was born on 10 October 1992 in a Gujarati family in Mumbai. Devarsh did his schooling from Jamnabai Narsee School, in the suburbs of Juhu. Devarsh’s first ad stint was with Kwality Walls, an ice-cream brand. Casting directors noticed the boy’s talent in the advertisement and recommended his name for a couple of ads. Devarsh then endorsed BSA bicycles and Solana toffees. Baa Bahoo Aur Baby was the story of a middle-class Gujarati family who always looked towards the positive side of life. With Sarita Joshi as the matriarch of Thakkar household, Devarsh essayed the role of Mehul Thakkar, son of Praveen Thakkar and one of the grandsons of Godavari.

Baa Bahoo Aur Baby got love from the audience and got dubbed in different languages, which also aired in foreign countries. The show ran for over five years with a high TRP rating. People also loved Devarsh for his acting in the show. Later, Devarsh received an offer to essay the younger version of Harshad Chopra’s role on Star Plus’ “ Tere Liye Tere Liye is a popular Hindi TV series broadcasted >> Read More... ”. As a matter of fact, Devarsh was not a part of the producers’ plans. However, Harshad was not available for the initial twenty episodes of Tere Liye due to some issues. As a result, the authors rewrote the script to make way for the actor.

In the edited version, Tere Liye focused on the childhood of the characters in the beginning of the series. After Devarsh became famous for his role as Mehul, he reprised as younger version of Harshad’s character. Devarsh’s father once stated that his son should concentrate on his studies, so that he could study in a premier engineering institute like IITs and pursue an MBA course after graduation in one of the IIMs. Currently, Devarsh is working for Only Much Louder, a company which organizes stage shows.
