Kean Lewis

Kean Lewis is a versatile Indian professional footballer. He plays as a winger in Bengaluru Football Club in Indian Super League. He was born on 19th September 1992, at Thane, Maharashtra. Kean started his career with PIFA (Premium Indian Football Academy Colaba Football Club). Kean at the age of 14, was invited for a trial with Leicester City Football Club Academy to Leicester City. After that, Kean joined Mahindra United Football Club in Mumbai, Maharashtra. In 2008, he got a chance to join Tata Football Academy, Jamshedpur, India. There was a sudden change in his life, Kean shifted to the United States, and he played for Fairleigh Dickinson Knights while completing his studies.

Kean has never taken a break from practicing regardless of transferring from places to places. Kean is a dedicated football player. After graduating, Kean moved to Houston, Texas where he joined the under-23 side of Houston Dynamo team. Kean also played with Laredo Heat of Premium Development League. In 2015, Kean came back to India and trailed with Mohun Bagan, the leading I-League Champions. Kean made his professional debut on 9th January 2016 appearing in Calcutta Football League against Aizawl Football Club. The match went for 90 minutes, and Kean’s team won the match wonderfully by the score of 3-1. Kean awarded with Man of the Match in his second match against Bengaluru Football Club.

After this achievement, Kean went to achieve many more heights in his career and became champion during the season of Mohun Bagan vs. Aizawl. Recently, Bengaluru Football Club signed Kean Lewis on a one-year deal for the 2018-19 season on 3rd June 2018. Kean has won many awards during his matches. Some of which are named as ‘Knight Award’ winner at Fairleigh University in Men’s Soccer 2013-14 season for his best performance in the season. In March 2009 awarded at the Guateng Future Champions 2009 Under 17 Tournament as ‘Most Valuable Player’ in PIFA-CYFC (India) team under the aegis of FIFA and the Gauteng Provincial Government in Gauteng South Africa organized as a prelude to the World Cup 2010.

Kean awarded highest goal scorer with 9 goals in 8 matches representing the State of Jharkhand (India), declared winners of the 45th U 19 Junior National Football Championship in Dr.B.C. Roy Trophy. Kean awarded highest Goal Scorer in the match conducted by the AIFF (All India Football Federation) in collaboration with Nike Under-15 “Manchester United Premier Cup” Indian Leg in 2007. He had been awarded the 2nd highest goal scorer in Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy representing the State of Maharashtra at the 29th U-16 Sub-Junior National Football Championship got second highest goal scorer award. Kean had been awarded highest goal scorer at the Inter School Football Tournament in the Under 14 Division IV winners held by the Mumbai Schools Sports Association with 23 goals in 7 matches.
