Budyananda Singh (born 27 November 1997) is an Indian football player, who was born on November 27th, 1997. He is a professional footballer and plays as a defensive mid-fielder for Bengaluru FC. Budyanda was born in Manipur and got selected by the Sports Authority of India in the year 2008 while he was eleven years old. The selection in the Sports Authority of India was a great decision for Budyanda, as it enabled his family to not worry about the financial needs of Budyanda, as the academy was paying for his football coaching and his food.
He stated that Shifting to the SAI meant that my family didn’t have to take care of my meals or my equipment as the academy would provide me with all the necessary kits and boots. Budyanda impressed lookouts from the AIFF (All India Football Federation) under-thirteen side and got selected for international camps. During 2014, he was among one of the two Indians who got the chance to play in a one-week camp in the Aspire Academy situated in Qatar. After this camp, he became the second Indian player, after Milan Basumatary, who got selected into the popular tournament all-star side.
He impressed selectors well enough at the tournament to get selected by the Spanish team Barcelona. After coming from Qatar, Budyanda played for the AIFF Elite Academy. On June 14th, 2016 it was pronounced that Bidyananda, along with a lot of other Indian football players, had signed a contract with Atlético Kolkata in the ISL (Indian Super League). He started his professional career for the team on October 25th, 2016 against Mumbai City.
