Yashraj Kapil is a musician and an upcoming playback singer in the Bollywood film industry. He was born in the year 1991 in the city of Faridabad. He showed a talent for music from a very young age. An only child, he was always supported by his family. His parents moved to the capital city of New Delhi to support his music career. He participated in the reality show “Sitaaron ko choona hai” in the year 2009 and became its winner at a young age of 18.

His career, which received a good boost in the beginning, came to a still for a while after that. He then resurfaced with his participation in the popular prime time music reality show of the country Indian Idol 5 in the year 2010. He didn’t win the show, but his performance earned him much praise from the celebrity judges of the TV show.

He also participated in Sahara One’s Sur Kshetra in 2012. Yashraj is not only a vocalist but is also an excellent keyboardist and guitarist. He draws his inspiration from his favorite singer, Sonu Nigam. He has worked with popular singer and composer Himesh Reshamya as a playback singer for the movies Khiladi and Policegiri. They are the famous Islamic musicians as well as singers from ‘Guru Ki Wadali’ that is present in the Amritsar district of Punjab state. These two brothers are Puranchand Wadali and Pyarelal Wadali. They were born as the fifth generation saints singing the messages of the Islamic saints. Before they became the Islamic singers, they were in completely different professions. The elder brother, Puranchad Wadala was in wrestling (also called as akhara) for the past 25, years and the other brother contributed his part to the family by playing the role of Lord Krishna in the ‘Rasleela’ in the villages. Their father was Thakur Das, and he was the one who had forced the elder brother into music. He had learned the music from the two famous masters, Pandit Durga Das and Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, who was a Hindustani vocalist from the Patiala Gharana, which is one f the Gharanas from the 'Hindustani Classical' music. The elder one had taught it to the younger one, and the younger brother considers the elder to be his master even today. They had started their career as the singers, and their first performance was at Harballabh Temple, which is present in Jalandhar, in the year 1975, and it was the first time they had performed it at a new place other than their village. When they went to the temple for the first time they were not allowed to go inside because of their appearance. So they had decided to sing the song there at the temple itself, and they did it which was recorded by the All India Radio. They sing in different genres like Gurbani, which is a Sikh term, Kafi an Islamic term, Ghazal, which is poetry and Bhajan, which is a Hindu term. They teach the music to all those who wanted to keep it alive. They are the followers of Sufi, and they firmly believe that they have been sent onto the earth to tell the preaching of the great saints to the others. They made their first debut in the Bollywood in the year 2003 in which they had given the music to the famous writer and music director of the Bollywood, Gulzar in their style in the movie ‘Pinjar’. Apart from the above movie they also had given the music for another movie named ‘Dhoop’ for just one song. Discovery Channel is trying to make a documentary on both the brothers. They also had given music for ‘Thooral Nindralam’ in the Tamil movie ‘Chikku Bikku’. They have been awarded several prestigious awards like the ‘Sangeet Natak Akademi Award’ in the year 1991. In the year 2005, the government had titled the Puranchand Wadala with ‘Padma Shri’. They also received PTC awards in the year 2015.


Altamash Faridi

Altamash Faridi, an Indian playback singer, was born on August 17, 1989, in a one of the biggest cities of Uttar Pradesh, Saharanpur.He was the winner of the musical reality show, Close-Up Performer winner telecasted on Doordarshan in the year 2009. He competed with 99 other candidates to win that award and received a cash price of one lakh rupees along with a singing contract worth ten lakhs rupees with Rajshri Production. He contested in "Music Ka Maha Muqabla" telecasted on StarPlus as a member of Shaan’s team “Striker.” He was seen later in the same year, in Zee "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar." He was in brother’s duo, Sajid-Wajid team and managed to reach the top 18 contestants. He first ventured as a playback singer for the comic thriller "No Problem" in the year 2010 alongside Wajid Khan. Since then he playback for many Bollywood numbers. He sang the song Babbe Mast with Sonu Kakkar for the feature What The Fish. He also gave his voice for Sajna Ve Sajna Ve in the movie Mickey Virus. But in the recent years, he is getting a lot more opportunities in big banner movies. In Salman Khan starring Jai Ho, he sang alongside Armaan Malik for the song ‘Tumko To Aana Hi Tha.’He sang more than one songs for Saif Ali Khan starrer, Agent Vinod, and Bipasha Basu starrer, Alone. Recently he sang the song, Aaj Ibaadat in the movie Bajirao Mastani alongside by Shahdab Faridi and Shashi Suman. This song is a musical gem. Currently, he is doing shows with Kanika Kapoor and would playback for song 'Jeena Sikha Diya' in the upcoming film ‘Do Lafzon Ki Kahani.’
