Mukund Nayak

Mukund Nayak is a famous singer, songwriter, and dancer. He was born on 15 October 1949. He is an exponent of the Nagpuri folk dance, Jhumar. He obtained a B.SC degree from Jamshedpur. He performed songs at many public places and with cultural workers like Bharat Nayak, Bhavya Nayak, Praful Kumar Rai, Lal Ranvijay Nath Shahdeo, and Kshitij Kumar Kshitij Kumar is an outstanding Indian Actor and e >> Read More... . He started working as a performer in All India Radio in 1974. In 1979, he started working in the Song and Drama Division of the Bihar Government.

He has also exhibited his art in countries like Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines, and the United States. In 1985, he founded an organization named Kunjban to promote Nagpuri culture. Kunjban promotes Nagpuri culture, especially Nagpuri chandeliers. Apart from this, he has also worked in many Nagpuri films like  Sona Kar Nagpur (1992), Baha (२००९), Phulmania (२०१९), and Karma Dharma (2022). He was also honored with many awards like Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, 2019, Padma Shri, 2017, Sanskritik Samman (2017) by Kala Sanskriti Vibhag, Jharkhand Gaurav Sammaan by Prabhat Khabar and Jharkhand Ratna Award by Lok Kala Samiti & Dainik Jagran.
