LK Advani is an Indian Politician. His full name is Lal Krishan Advani. He was born on 8 November 1927 in Karachi in a Sindhi Family of businessmen. His parents are Kishanchand D.Advani and Gyani Devi. He completed his schooling at St. Patrick’s High School, Karachi, Sindh. Later, he enrolled himself in a government college in Hyderabad. After partition, he migrated to India and went to Bombay, where he graduated in Law from the Government Law College of the Bombay University. He was married to Kamla Advani in February 1965. He joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in 1941. Advani was the founding member of the Bharati Janata Party, popularly known as BJP. He was a deputy Prime Minister of India from 2002 to 2004. Advani was largely responsible for strengthening the BJP, and it is also known that he was the one who scripted the rise of BJP.
In 1970 he became a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India’s Parliament. Advani was elected as President of the BJS in 1973. To popularize BJP, he started conducting Rath Yatras. He ran his party’s prime ministerial candidate in the 2009 general election. He resigned from his cabinet position because of the party’s defeat. In 2019, BJP did not list him as a candidate for his Lok Sabha seat; then he left office later in 2019. His autobiographical book called My Country My Life, released on 19 March 2008 by Abdul Kalam. In 2002 he wrote A Prisoner’s Scrap-Book. In 2016 he wrote Nazarband Loktanta; in 2016, he wrote Drishtikon.
