Sukumar Ray was born 30th October, 1887 in Calcutta. He died at a very early age. Sukumar Ray died when he was 35 years of age. He passed away on 10th September 1923 in Calcutta at his own residence. His wife’s name is Suprabha Devi, they had a son named Satyajit Ray, who later went on to become a filmmaker. His father’s name is Upendrakishore Ray and his mother’s name is Bidhumukhi.

Sukumar Ray is a very popular poet, playwright and writer as well he used to write mainly for children. His language is Bengali therefore; he used to write in Bengali only. He is still one of the famous poets in Bangladesh and West Bengal even after his death and people remember him and praise his writings even today. Sukumar Ray’s son Satyajit Ray has made a documentary on him in the year 1987 which was an outstanding documentary. His father Upendrakishore Ray was also a children’s story writer, musician and painter as well and his grandfather Sandip Ray was a Bengali filmmaker.

Sukumar Ray is born and brought up in a very talented family and gained a lot of qualities from his family only. Sukumar Ray has also started a Monday Club where people used to come and share their opinions and then he used to write a lot of poems about all the discussions that take place in Monday Club. His father Upendrakishore was a very close friend of the very popular poet Rabindranath Tagore and Sukumar was influenced a lot by him as Sukumar also became a very good friend of Rabindranath Tagore. His father loved to study a lot therefore, he studied blockmaking and he also began his business of blockmaking.

In the year 1906 Sukumar Ray completed his graduation in Chemistry and Physics from the University of Calcutta. Sukumar also went to England and there he was taught printing technology and photography. Later, he also gave lectures on the songs of his friend Rabindranath Tagore. In England also Sukumar Ray’s various articles got published.

After the death of Sukumar’s father he himself managed the business of his father and his brother also supported him a lot. Sukumar was also the chief of Brahmo Samaj, he has also written a poem which consists of the history of Brahmo Samaj named ‘Atiter Katha’. Some of his popular works are Abol tabol, Pagla Dashu which is written for kids and kids likes his writings very much. He has also written Bhasar Atyachar in the year 1915 and much more.

Teji Grover was born in Pathankot on March 7, 1955. Pathankot is situated in Punjab. Teji Grover is a very famous Hindi Poet, Painter, Fiction Writer and Translator as well. The way she writes fiction is seamless; she perfectly blends all the elements, for her there is no other world than writing. She also wrote Lo Kaha Sambari in the year 1994, Maitri in the year 2008 and much more. Recently, she published the second edition of Lo Kaha Sambari in the year 2016. Her poems got published in many of the famous books as well. Teji Grovers poems also got translated into many languages like Polish, English, Swedish and many more. Her English translations are included in many anthologies such as Penguin New writing In India, Speaking for Myself in the year 2009, Love Poems from India in the year 2005 and much more. Teji Grover has written many essays in Hindi as well. Two of her essays got translated into English and got published. They were Looking at the body of a Poem and The Blue House. She has written many other essays in English which got published;Weak Pink Color, A Poet Bursting Into Color and many more. She has also written books for children like Doodh Jalebi Jaggagga, Apke Japani Haiku, Mann Ke laddoo and much more. Teji Grover is very good at painting as well; she holds many shows like Earth Colors in Jaipur at the very popular place Jawahar Kala Kendra in the year 2010, Jo Nahin Hain in the year 2011 in New Delhi and many more.
