Ashwini Bhave is an Indian TV and film actress. She was born on 7th May 1972 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Ashwini has been working in many Marathi and Hindi films. She got her popularity for the role she played in a Science fiction Hindi TV sitcom, "Antariksh". After being recognized, Ashwini did her first Marathi film debut "Dhadakebaaz", where, she played the lead female role, which turned out to be a super hit film. She later acted on many more Marathi movies in which top Marathi actors like Laxmikant Berde, Vikram Gokhale and Ashok Saraf had starred. After getting successful response in the Marathi movies, Ashwini decided to take her acting career to the next level. She made her first Hindi film debut in "Henna", that was released in 1991. It was a romantic film, with actor Rishi Kapoor starring the male lead role and was directed and produced by Randhir Kapoor. Ashwini starred in many more Bollywood movies later and worked with Bollywood superstars like Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan and the movies were big success. She married Kishore Bopardikar, a software engineer and settled with him in San Francisco. She was back in the film world in 2007, producing and as well as acting in her own Marathi film.

Ashwini Bhave-Bopardikar is an Indian actress-cum-model, who is famous for her acting in Hindi, as well as Marathi movies and television serials. India is her birthplace and also the country she was brought up in. However, currently, she stays in San Francisco, California. She is married to Kishore Bopardikar who lives in San Francisco, USA, and is a software engineer.

She made her debut in the world of acting through the science-fiction Hindi television show, ‘Antariksh’. She played the lead actress in many successful Marathi films like ‘Dhadakebaaz’ in 1990, Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi in 1989, and Kalat Nakalat in 1989. Some Marathi movie actors she has worked with are Ashok Saraf, Laxmikant Berde, Vikram Gokhale and Sachin Gokhale.

Her acting in many of her films such as ‘Ahuti’ (1994), Kalat Nakalat (1989), Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi (1989), ‘Yugpurush’, and the motion picture, by R.K. Productions, ‘Heena’, has received wide critical appreciation. Some Hindi movies in which she has played roles are Meera Ka Mohan in 1992, ‘Honeymoon’ in 1992, ‘Sainik’ in 1993 (opposite Akshay Kumar) and ‘Bandhan’.

Going beyond Marathi and Hindi films, she has also starred in a Kannada film called Vishnu-Vijaya, in 1993. Keshu directed this picture and the cast included South Indian movie actor, Dr. Vishnuvardhan, Akshay Kumar (also her co-actor in the film, Sainik), and Ashutosh Rana. Another Kannada film done by her was Rangena Halliyage Rangada Rangegowda, in 1997. With the director being V. Manohar, the film’s cast, apart from her, included Kannada's legend, Dr. Ambareesh, with the famous actor Ramesh Aravind. Dr. Ambareesh is a former Member of Parliament and current Housing Minister of Karnataka.

People remember her for her performance in the Marathi stage drama, Lagnachi Bedi, as the lead actress.

She ventured to become a producer and play the lead role in a movie in Marathi called ‘Kadachit’, in 2007. She has done more than 40 films in her acting career.
