Siddharth Basrur is a singer and music composer from India. He was born in the year of 1981. From a young age, Basrur was interested in music. He was brought up by his grandparents. Not just Basrur, but most of his family members were avid music listeners. Of all genres, classic rock 'n’roll and Alternative Rock were his favorite. Basrur is an alumnus of Poddar School. To give himself an edge in the industry, Basrur studied audio engineering in a diploma college. After graduating from there, he took up the job of a sound engineer.

In 2008, Basrur shortly worked with Channel V as a content writer, but later resigned from there to focus solely on his passion. Kinky Ski Munky is the first band in which he made his debut. Basrur is also part of Goddess Gagged, a band that focuses on the genre of heavy metal. Haunted 3D's music director, Chirantan, is a friend of Basrur and he gave him the chance to croon two of his movie's songs. Since then Basrur has sung in movies like M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Paranthe Wali Gali, and many others. He has also crooned singles like Logic Is Such a Liar, Okakifreak – That's Right, Fool, and many more. He won the MTV VMA's Roots Song of the Year in 2013. Jack Daniels Rock Awards and Radio City Freedom Awards nominated him in the category of Best Male Artist of the Year and the Song of the Year respectively. When he was growing up, Basrur's parents' marriage began to suffer. His academic performance was also abysmal. All this added to his stress, and he started to rely on alcohol and drugs. To pay for his addiction, Basrur would even steal his step-mother's jewelry. As a result, he had to change several colleges. In fact, he was caught by the police several times. After a long time, he decided to enroll himself in Bombay's rehabilitation center. This decision changed his life for the better, and soon things began to improve.
