Kushal Paul

Kushal Paul is an emerging Indian singing sensation, who is most well known for his exploits in the 2016 version of the popular TV singing talent hunt show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, which he won. Kushal was born into a Bengali family, and currently lives with his family at his Sonarpur home on the outskirts of Kolkata. His mother’s name is Hema Paul, who has stated Rourkela to be her hometown. In an interview with famous daily, The Indian Express, Kushal said that he first started acquiring knowledge about music at the age of three.

Kushal knows three languages fluently: English, Hindi, and his mother tongue Bengali. Growing up in a Bengali household, everybody gets his/her own nickname, and Kushal is no exception! In 2008, he appeared on Star of Bengal, a music reality show which was broadcast on Zee Bangla. It was a low-profile debut for the lad, which gave him his first taste of the stage. In 2013, he saw an opportunity in the form of the Bengali edition of the successful franchise, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Kushal did not waste any time in grabbing it, and he eventually converted it to the gold when he finally won the show. Kushal became a famous teenage celebrity in Bengal, and he appeared as a guest performer in many events around the state. But he always knew he was destined for more. And so, Kushal decided to take part in the national version of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in the year 2016.
