Susmit Bose is an Indian singer-songwriter born on November 1st, 1950. He started writing music in the 1970s. His songs address societal concerns including - human rights, world peace, and nonviolence. He has given numerous performances both domestically and internationally. In 1978, he took part in the Havana, Cuba, International Folk Song Festival. He has produced documentaries and movies about India's socio-cultural characteristics. He created the soundtrack for the film "I Am Kalam." After a 25-year break, he returned to the studio in 2006 to record his much-praised album "Public Issue."
He appeared in the 2019 documentary If Not for You about Kolkata's enduring romance with famed singer-songwriter Bob Dylan. Later, in 2018, he created Rockumentary: Evolution of Indian Rock, and the most recent is The Beatles and India.
