Sapan Sen Gupta and Jagmohan Bakshi, popularly known as Sapan Jagmohan, are members of a famous music composer duo of the 1970s. Jagmohan Bakshi was born on 29 July 1929 in Murrie, Punjab, whereas Sapan Sen Gupta was born on 17 July 1932 in Sylhet in Dhaka, Bangladesh and grew up in Kolkata. Both came to Mumbai with a dream of being playback singers in the film industry and met each other at the Salil Chowdhury's Bombay Youth Choir in 1957. After realizing that the music industry is highly competitive for singers, Sapan and Jagmohan teamed up as a music composer duo. After a lot of struggle, they finally got a chance to work with SD Burman, a renowned music director. They worked with other popular lyricists like Indeevar, Shailendra and M.G. Hashmat. As Sapan Jagmohan composed several songs, their music style seems similar to RD Burman's. Begaana is the first film on which they worked as a music director, directed by Sadashiv J. Row Kavi and released in 1963.

They were also active in the composition of Tv original scores of Kujh Khatta Kujh Mittha (1990), Chunauti (1987), and Woh Chokri (1994). They composed several Bengali songs like Chotta Ekta Bhalobasa, Ebar Ami Jai Je Chole, Aaj Mon Agoon Ke, etc. Jagmohan Bakshi died on 26 February 1999, and Sapan Sen Gupta took his last breath on 15 October 2022 at the age of 90.
