Jawahar Wattal is an Indian music composer and a producer from Delhi, also known as the Kingmaker of Indipop. He composed over 3000 jingles for various television series and commercials like The World This Week, Ru Ba Ru, Himalaya Darshan, and many more; he is also well-known for creating music for airlines.
Jawahar Wattal's music career started at the young age of 21 by composing songs and singing jingles, and he has since produced and directed over 73 albums in several languages.
His famous albums include: Challa, Jhanjhar, Yaari Yaari, Sajnaa, and many more. He has had great success in the music industry and has worked with legendary artists such as Lata Mangeshkar, Hari Prasad Chaurasia, and many more.
He discovered his interest in the genre of Indipop alongside renowned artists like Baba Sehgal, Daler Mehndi, and Subha Mudgil.
He has received numerous awards for his commendable musical journey, including the Padmashri (2008), one of the most prestigious awards, as well as the Sangeet Samrat Award (2000), Multi-platinum Award (1999) for his work in Mahi O Mahi, Punjabi Munda, Piya Se Milke Aaye Nain, Jhanjhar, and many more.
