Born in the year 1970, Pooja Bedi is a former Hindi actress. Actor Kabir Bedi is her father. She studied at Besant Montessori, located in Mumbai. She excelled not only in studies but also in extracurricular activities including swimming, basketball etc.
Bedi was wedded to Guetta Ebrahim Furniturewalla but eventually they parted ways. They are blessed with two children. Her career in Bollywood was during the years 1991 to 1994. She also worked in many campaigns and commercials. She is famous for the Kamasutra campaign. This was done for a good cause i.e. to instill awareness of AIDS. Pooja Bedi also had a brief stint as an anchor of talk show.
Bedi worked in plays, including Wow What a Girl, Carry on Papa and A Bengali Jatra. Vish Kanya was her first film and she is best remembered for her role in
starrer Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander. She also worked in Lootere and Aatank Hi Aatank.
Bedi also worked as a columnist for The Hindustan Times, The Times of India and Mid Day. She had penned articles for several publications. Her talk show Just Pooja aired in Zoom TV won several awards and it was telecasted for around 100 episodes. She got herself involved in Jhalak Dhiklaja, a dance show wherein she cultivated a passion for ballroom dance. She had hosted many shows. She also had a brief stint with Big Boss 5.
Her philanthropic side was at its best when she supported breast cancer awareness, welfare of street children, etc. Bedi never fails to voice her thoughts and this she does through newspapers and electronic media. She worked on the memoirs of her mother during the year 2000. She didn’t hesitate to do breathtaking stunts in one of the shows that she participated. Travelling and reading are some of her interests.
