Madhavi is an Indian movie actress. She has acted in several films across Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali, Oriya, Tamil, and Kannada industry. She was born to Sasirekha and Govinda Swami in Hyderabad, Andra Pradesh. She was eldest child of her parents. She completed her schooling from Stanley Girls High School in Hyderabad. She showed early signs of an artist and began taking profession training in Bharat Natyam. Throughout her career, Madhavi performed in over thousand shows. Renowned film director Dasari Narayan Rao discovered her talent while she was studying in eighth grade.

Hence, Madhavi found her way in show biz when Rao decided to launch her in his next Telugu film ‘ Thoorpu Padamara.’ The movie was a hit. It helped her to get recognition and a taste of stardom. She continued working in Telugu industry with other prominent directors. Madhavi grabbed the attention in Bollywood industry with her impressive acting in ‘EkDujekeLiye’. The film was the biggest commercial hit of 1981. Madhavi was also nominated for Best Actress Award in Filmfare Awards. Not many actors are fortunate enough to work with legendary actors like Rajnikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, but Madhavi was one of them. Her Punjabi film, “Patiala Dreamz”, and her German venture, “The Girl with the Indian Emerald” were made and released next in 2013-2014. “Samrat& Co.” (2014), her next Hindi Movie, was directed by Kaushik Ghatak and was produced by Kavita K. Barjatya. She made her appearance as the character ‘Dimpy Singh’, a rich and beautiful maiden. It has earned just about Rupees 2 Crores at the Box Office. As of 2015, she has figured as the heroine in the Hindi comedy road show movie, “ Paisa Ho Paisa”, and as the character, ‘Bhoomika’.
