BH Tanvi Rao

Ever since she was a young little child, Tanvi Rao has been learning to master the art of Bharatnatyam and happens to be one of the greatest artists in the field. Tanvi started learning Bharatanatyam at the tender age of four and a half, and after only a year she won in state and national-level dance competitions. Now, a mere teenager, this child prodigy has been decorated with accolades so much so that she has reached the stature of a celebrity and a well-respected and admirable dancer.

This Mangalorean artist hit the limelight when she began gaining eminence not only in Bharatnatyam, and eventually Kathak, but other semi-classical dances as well. Tanvi has performed in around six international platforms in Asia & Europe at the age of 16. She has been associated with dance-dramas since her early years.

Tanvi is an admired and respected personality and is known to be charitable as well. She is said to have donated her signing fees from her first Bollywood movie to underprivileged dancers from her academy.

Tanvi was awarded for her exceptional contribution in the field of culture by Government of Karnataka, Department of Women’s & Children Welfare, in the presence of Governor of Karnataka who then recommended her name for the National Awards 2009.
