Bindiya Goswami is a former actress from the late 1970s who acted in many Hindi films in Bollywood. She was born on August 8, 1961 in Mumbai, India. She was married to renowned Bollywood film producer and director, J.P. Dutta and they have two daughters namely, Nidhi and Siddhi who also plans to plunge into the same industry. Prior to this, she got married to her co-star,
but later got a divorce. After her marriage with J.P. Dutta, she resigned from being an actress.

spotted Bindiya while at a party when she was only 14-years old. Looking at Bindiya’s face makes her think that her daughter, Hema has a resemblance to Bindiya so she recommends her to some producers. She was debuted in the Bollywood drama film, Jeevan Jyoti in 1976, where she played the role of Laxmi Munni. The film flopped at that time but Bindiya continues her career and made a success in the 1978 Hindi film,

. Her biggest success happens after she donned the role of Urmila in the popular and blockbuster Bollywood comedy film, Gol Maal in 1979. Her success in Golmaal led her to do the role of Renu, opposite Ravi Kumar (played by ) in the big-budget action film, Shaan in 1980. She also donned the film, Ahsaas with the legendary, in 1979. She also donned the film, Dada in 1979 together with Vinod Mehra. In 1982, Bindiya acted in another Hindi film, Khuddar which stars Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Mehra. Later, she appeared in the 1982 Hindi film, Hamari Bahu Alka as Alka. She also acted as an Inspector in the feature film, Aamne Samne. In 1983, the actress was seen in the comedy film,
, a film that is based on the book of Kamleshwar. From then, she donned films like Mehandi, Chor Police, Avinash, Vishaal and Mera Yaar Mera Dushman. After that, the actress was never seen acting again. Instead, she works as a costume designer for big names like Kareena Kapoor and
. She was also the one who designed J.P. Dutta’s costume in the films, Border, Refuge and LOC Kargil.
Choosing the life she have today over the fame and success that the limelight gave her, Bindiya declares that she never regret it, since she was never an ambitious person. She said, she have no time for other things because being a full-time wife and a mother is a round the clock task.
