Om Raut finally opened up about the traumatic experience of Adipurush.
While the director continues to deny any malicious intention behind the same, he did admit that the failure of Adipurush helped him learn a lot. He can only hope that he makes movies which will make people forgive his previous blunders.
Om Raut had recently backed the crime comedy Inspector Zende, which was loosely based on famous cop Madhukar Zende’s campaign against notorious serial killer Charles Sobhraj, who had escaped the Tihar Jail in 1986. The movie starred Manoj Bajpayee in the titular role, while Jim Sarbh played the lead antagonist.
Om Raut is just four films old, but none have seen a roller coaster of a career that he has. Having made his debut with the moderately successful Lokmanya – Ek Yugpurush, which starred Subodh Bhave as Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Om stormed to national limelight with the biographical drama Tanhaji – the Unsung Warrior, which was inspired by the sacrifices of Maratha braveheart Tanaji Malusare, for which Ajay Devgn also received the National Award for Best Actor.
When Adipurush was announced with Prabhas, everyone looked forward towards the project. However, the film turned out to be one of the biggest box office disasters, forcing Om to take a sabbatical. He is now working on Kalam, which will star Dhanush as the former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
