Chatura Rao is a fiction author, journalist, and university teacher. She completed her diploma in Mass Communication in 1994-95 at Sophia Polytechnic, Mumbai. Chatura finished her Masters at Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology. Her books for children include such as 'The Case of Disappearing Color,' 'Growing up in Pandupur,' and 'Nabiya.' Chatura worked for two years at Bennett Coleman and Co. Ltd. as a Feature writer and Sub-editor. She then worked as a Content Writer at Tata Interactive Systems and Bloomsbury India as a Fiction Writer. Chatura works as a Content Writer at 'CARE.' Her book 'Gone Grandmother' was awarded Hindu Good Book for Best Picture Book in 2017. Chatura got Laadli Award for Gender Sensitive Reporting in 'Women and Trouble within/without Homes' and 'School of Hard Knocks' in 2017 and 2020 repectively.
