Malvika Singh is a well known person in the world of journalism and literature. She is an esteemed editor, publisher, journalist, author, and a woman with proficient skills. Malavika was twelve years old when her family transposed from Bombay to Delhi. She comes from a family that has a strong background in journalism, which can be imaged in her work as well. Her parents Raj Thapar and Romesh Thapar, were also a journalists and they are known for starting SEMINAR, a famed monthly magazine, in 1959 in Bombay. After the success of the magazine Malavika got married to Tejbir Singh who edits the monthly magazine. Tejbir Singh is Sir Sobha Singh's grandson and Kushwant Singh's nephew. Malavika met Tejbir Singh at Modern School for the first time. Singh has authored several notable books, such as Perpetual City: Short Biography of Delhi. Singh describes her office as a typical Connaught Place office. She served as Associate Publisher of the Business India Group, Editor of the India Magazine and Vice Chairman of INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage).

Singh has not limited herself to these honours, and a valid testimony to that is her work and contribution as a consultant with the Handlooms and Handicrafts Corporation of India. If history is any evidence, Malvika’s ‘Sarees Of Memory’ project which gave life to 21 traditional sarees and weaver the design ownership, indicates the expertise she holds in textiles. She also works as a Founder member of the Rehwa Society, striving to give life to the Maheshwari Saree in India. The author’s skills and abilities go beyond the horizons of words and inks. She was recognized as a reputed speaker at India Design 2020.

 Singh has an eye for detail and design. She has also served as a jewellery designer under ‘Nigaar’. Malvika’s devotion to cultural discourse is unimaginable. She has always been one of the main reasons behind successful cultural exchanges. One such example of that is the notable “Jaipur Literature Festival”. She served as the co-director of the literary fest. Her intellectual discussions and sessions ranged from literature to politics.
