Vipul Amrutlal Shah Hindi Actor

Vipul Amrutlal Shah

With big banners scouting for good scripts, Vipul Amrutlal Shah (also known as Vipul Shah), had delivered maximum hits one after another, which witnessed a drastic change in Bollywood cinema in a delicate manner. He paved the way for big banners that scouted for good scripts and had need the support of both banners and realistic stories for industry’s benefits.  This director-producer came into limelight for his film ‘’Waqt: The Race Against Time’’ (2005). The film was a highest grosser in the box-office, and it also gave Akshay Kumar to make a firm foothold in Hindi cinema for portraying a serious family character. The film was based on a Gujarati play (Aavjo Vhala Fari Malishu). The film is believed to be a sensible and accurate adaptation based on the author’s judgment, clicked well in the box office which had Amitabh Bachchan and Shefali Shah in the lead roles. His film ‘Aankhein’ (2002), has been inspired by Amrutlal Shah’s Gujarati play Andhalo Pato.  The film Aankhein’s unusual storyline, well-executed direction, and acting, with Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar drew maximum accolades for their performances. The film had a worldwide premiere in Malaysia at the IIFA Awards ceremony in 2002, and viewers liked the movie. Shah made debut as an independent director with ‘Aankhein’. As of date, he has directed Akshay Kumar in four Hindi films and Amitabh Bachchan in two films.  While ‘Aankhein’ was a killer heist drama, ‘Waqt’ was like a breath of fresh air, which had family emotions to keep people drawing to theatres for its comedy elements. Vipul's’ third directorial venture ‘Namastey London (2007) too had Akshay Kumar, and Katrina Kaif and the film did well in box office.  In 2008, Vipul tried hands in production and released ‘Singh Is Kinng’, which broke all previous records of Vipul’s earlier film and placed Akshay as the 'King' of Bollywood. However, his next flick “London Dreams”, released in 2009, did only average business, which had Salman Khan, Asin and Ajay Devgan in lead roles.  In the year 2010, the film ‘Action Replay’ did not create any magic and viewers felt that the director lost his Midas- touch although there were Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles. But this talented director’s film, ‘Action Replay’, got a chance to enter Oscar Library. The Library of the Academy of Motion Arts was interested in keeping the screenplay for its permanent script collection. Thus, Action Replay became worthy enough for students to read and learn in Oscar Library.  He also directed on Sony Television family serial ‘Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka,' which to broke the record of the first TV show to cross 1000 episodes. Vipul Shah is currently shooting ‘Force-2’, with John Abraham in Hungary, which has strong expectations from the public in box office again.
