Arun Fulara is a writer and director living in Mumbai, India. His first short film, Sunday (2020), has screened at numerous film festivals all over the world, including Tampere Film Festival, London India Film Festival, Shorts Mexico, Inside Out Toronto, and BISFF Bengaluru. At the Kashish MIQFF in 2020, Arun took up the renowned Riyad Wadia Award for Best Emerging Filmmaker for Sunday. His second short film, "My Mother's Girlfriend," which won the coveted Kashish QDrishti Film Grant, is currently in post-production. His current project is My Home is in the Hills, a coming-of-age drama with a strong magical realism element set in the backdrop of migration.
The Leopard of Bageshwar, Arun's prize-winning short story about a man-eater in the Kumaon hills, was released by Juggernaut. He worked with renowned director Devashish Makhija on critically praised movies like AJJI & BHONSLE, which screened at film festivals in Busan, Rotterdam, Tallinn, and Gothenburg. Before working in marketing and strategy in the corporate sector for almost ten years, he completed his master's degree in management and engineering studies.
