Srimanta Sengupta

Srimanta Sengupta is a creative director and creative producer based in Kolkata and Mumbai. He has nearly two decades of experience under his belt in the entertainment industry, with unique concepts that focus on fiction and non-fiction. Sengupta has made his presence known in several areas such as ad films, music videos, short films, and feature films. He initially based his work on the non-fiction genre but later shifted his attention to the fictional world. 

Sengupta is known for his wonderfully creative ideas, as seen in his show, Big Switch, where the contestants were kids from well-off backgrounds. They had to work in an unfamiliar environment where they needed to complete some tasks to teach them valuable life lessons. A few of his other noted projects include Emotional Atyachar, Channel V Heroes, Pyaar Ka The End, MTV Love School, and Something Like Love.

In an interview, Sengupta had stated that he would like to create entertaining and meaningful content which will evoke a positive feeling among the audience.

In 2020, Sengupta appeared online on a program, The Breakdown, an informal interactive show, where he took a trip down memory lane, recalling the hard work that went into his initial work project, Big Switch. He talks about the fun he had and the experience he gained from creating such a television program. Sengupta shared some of the essential tips regarding successful ways to pitch an idea. He also talks about the pre-production work that goes into the planning and development of a show. Finally, he shares some of his experiences in the industry and his expectations in the post-covid world of film-making.
