Kalpataru, also known as K. Parvez was a renowned director, producer and screenwriter. He was known for his exceptional work and invaluable contribution he has made to the Indian film industry. He was born on 29 November 1937, in Mumbai Maharashtra. He began his filmmaking career when the Indian cinema was in its nascent stages. His care spanned several decades and has directed over 30 movies.
Some of his notable works include Chhota Sa Ghar (1996), Ghar Ki Izzat (1994), Badi Bahen (1993), Ghar Ki Laaj (1993), Ghar Ho To Aisa (1990), Naseebwaala (1992), Humshakal (1992), Apna Ghar (1989), Paraya Ghar (1989), Rishta To Ho Aisa (1992), Bade Ghar Ki Beti (1989), Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani (1988), Ghar Ka Sukh (1987), Maa Beti (1986), Ghar Dwaar (1985), Hamar Bhauji (1983), Parabesh (1980), Paribesh (1980), Khoon Ka Badla Khoon (1978), Tinku (1977), Dhamkee (1973),Do Bachche Dus Haath (1972), Chhaila Babu (1967), Duniya Nachegi (1967), Dekha Pyaar Tumhara (1963), Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye (1963), Salaam Memsaab (1961) and Mr. Q (1958). Apart from directing he also wrote stories and screenplays for several films. He had both directed and written the film Ghar ki Ijjat (1994). Sadly on May 17th 2015, Kalpataru passed away in Mumbai, Maharashtra leaving his wife and two children behind. His legacy will forever will be etched in the hearts of film makers and film enthusiasts.
