Pramada Menon is a feminist activist, a stand-up comedian, and a gender and sexuality consultant. She is also a Co-founder of Creating Resources for Empowerment in Action (CREA). Pramada began her career in advertising but was disappointed with the use of sexism and gender stereotypes to sell products. At the Age of 22, she joined Dastkar, a society for craft and artisans which is to improvise the economic status of craftspeople and also promote the survival of traditional skills. She started assistant in 1987 and worked there for ten years. She became t executive director of Dastkar in 1993 and guided the organization for four years. She worked with a group of other woman’s rights activists. She attended the “Culture, Society and Sexuality” at the Sexuality institute in Amsterdam and was encouraged by a related institute in India. Co-founded CREA in 2000 with Geetanjali Misra, using human rights support and working in the field of sexuality, reproductive health, violence against women, and economic justice.
