Shailender’s first work was a short film called “ Prashan Chinn”, screened at the 62’nd Cannes Film Festival and in 20 Film Festivals around the globe, winning many awards. In his cinema venture, he has written and directed several plays.

Vyas was awarded the “Legislative Assembly Award” in Canada for his play, “Palki”, In 2006. Later in 2010, he grabbed the “Award of Excellence” to recognise the year’s best film for his movie, “Lost”. He dealt with the complex social issue of drug abuse and addiction in his film “Three Colours and a Canvas”. Shailender has contributed to various projects in a range of media, including feature films, short films, documentaries and made-for-television films. He has also produced a cookbook series, called “Chakh Le India”. His skills and knowledge of music has helped him be a multi-talented director, which helps his craft a lot. He contributed to the music, by singing a song in “JL50”.
