Kamal Saigal is an Indian editor who has worked in Bollywood and Bhojpuri movies. His first work as the principal copyreader came in the form of Basu Chatterjee’s Pasand Apni Apni which had
in the lead roles. His next major motion picture was Anil Kapoor’s Chameli Ki Shaadi. In this romantic drama, Kapoor plays the character of a wrestler who falls for a teenage girl under hilarious situations.
After a string of films like Lakhon Ki Baat, Zevar, Do Qaidi, Maut Ki Sazaa, and Kamla Ki Maut, he edited Akshay Kumar’s Sabse Bada Khiladi in 1995. Sabse Bada Khiladi became a hit among the movie buffs and cemented Akshay’s place in the industry. He continued his association with the Khiladi series with Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi which released in the year 1996. Interestingly, KKK had the beautiful actress Rekha as its main villain, a first for her.
In 1999, Kamal was the editor of International Khiladi which became his third Khiladi venture. After a hiatus, Kamal resumed the job of editing with the 2006 film Kaamwali. Then, Kamal started to contribute to the regional cinema with a 2011 Punjabi flick MLA Natha Singh. Over the recent years, Kamal has worked in Bhojpuri movies such as Pratigya Naagin Ke, Khan Khan Bole Mora Kangna, and others. He was a supervisor of his editing team of films like “The Real Dream Girl (2014),” “My Best Friend,” “Desi Mandi,” “Manchali Padosan,” and Kesar Kasturi.
Few people would know about this, but Kamal Saigal was an assistant director too. In fact, he started out as an assistant to Basu Bhattacharya’s Teesri Kasam which released in 1966.

In 1991, Kamal Saigal made his directorial debut in the form of Jaan Pechaan. Jaan Pechaan was a family drama in which
played the key roles of Raja and Abdul Malik respectively. In Jaan Pechaan, Suman portrayed the role of a playboy who got himself and Abdul in trouble when a girl became pregnant as a result of a single mischievous act.
