Borun Thokchom is an Indian filmmaker whose film ‘The Silent Poet’ won a National Award in 2011. In many national and international film festivals, the film was nominated and won awards. He also collaborated with ‘NHK World’ in Japan on a WWII documentary series called ‘Battle of Imphal’. He also served as a Line Producer on Amazon Prime Video for ‘Kavithalayaa Productions' musical documentary series with AR Rahman. He is now filming ‘BATTLEFIELD’, a WWII-themed documentary film in Imphal.
Borun stated that he began shooting for the film ‘I Rise’ in the spring of 2015 and finished post-production five years later in December 2019. He claims that the most difficult aspect of becoming a documentary filmmaker is finding funds and that he could create this film if the Mumbai Film Division loved his story and approved the proposal.
