Alankrita Shrivastava is a popular Indian director who is among one of India’s leading contemporary writers as well. She most recently directed and co-wrote some episodes of Amazon Prime Video’s critically appreciated web series, Made in Heaven. Alankrita’s latest film, the Lipstick Under My Burkha (2017) featuring Konkona Sen and Ratna Pathak Shah, got great appreciation and praise from critics and audiences all around the world. The film won several awards at many prestigious international movie festivals including MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, Glasgow, Tokyo, Glasgow, and IFFLA.

She is also creating an original series for an international media platform. Alankrita hails from Delhi and completed her secondary education in a boarding school, Welham Girls' School situated in Dehradun and did her graduation from Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi.
Alankrita completed her Masters in Mass communication at the A.J.K. Mass Communication Research Centre situated in Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. She shifted to Mumbai and worked as an assistant to Prakash Jha on many films including Apaharan, Gangaajal, Loknayak, Khoya Khoya Chand, Dil Dosti, Raajneeti and many more. Her diploma movie was about her mother's journey against cancer. Later, she wrote and directed her debut movie Turning 30.
