Aditya J. Patwardhan is an Indian director, scriptwriter, and producer. He was born on September 12, 1989. Aditya J. Patwardhan’s place of birth is Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He belongs to the Chitpavan community of Maharashtra. He took his school education at Mahaveer Public School. Then, he went to the Jaipur Engineering College and Research Centre in Jaipur, Rajasthan, to pursue a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Information Technology in 2011. In 2014, he took a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Film and Media Production at the New York Film Academy. He married Manasi Mahajan on May 7, 2018.

Aditya J. Patwardhan commenced making short films & songs for the audience after completing his Computer Engineering in 2011. Based in Los Angeles, filmmaker Aditya J. Patwardhan is well-known for a wide array of works, including series pilots, documentaries, and short films. His internationally recognized filmography with work showcased through esteemed platforms and news networks around the world, such as Apple TV, The Times of India, Amazon Prime Video, TV Asia, Daily News and Analysis KSFY News (ABC Network), MTV, Latin America news, and many others. He has directed projects in the United States, Baltic & Eastern Europe, South Korea, India, and Colombia. Though from an English-speaking & Marathi background,  Aditya J. Patwardhan has directed projects in non-native languages such as Portuguese, Spanish, and Korean.

Aditya J. Patwardhan released his first psychological thriller feature film, “Transference” in 2020. In the film, he worked with acclaimed filmmaker Danny Cannon, producer Nicole Cannon, composer David Russo, and the team behind Pennyworth, Gotham, Judge Dredd, and CSI: Miami. It was followed by an environmental docu-fiction “A Nomad River” in 2021, supported by the Isha Foundation, produced by Julia Verdin & Lan La Frenais, and featuring Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev and Indian classical musician Pandit Krishna Mohan Bhatt. In 2022, Aditya J. Patwardhan’s first Korean feature film “And the Dream That Mattered” was released on Apple TV, and it also received the best film award at the twenty-sixth Korean Cultural Academy Awards. 

He is well-known for his short film “Red House by the Crossroads” in 2015. The film was honored with the Best Short Film award at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards. The film was also part of Cannes Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival 2015. His popular music videos include Katra Katra, Mora Mann, and Kyu Jata Hai. In 2023, he marked his producing debut with the documentary “Pink Belt” with Academy Award-winning producer Andrew Carlberg and director John McCrite. He has been the Chief Executive Officer at Mithraspect Private Limited in Jaipur since February 2012.

Aditya J. Patwardhan is an Indian-origin film director, producer, and scriptwriter from Jaipur, India. Aditya belongs to the lineage of the Patwardhan family of the Chitpavan community of Maharashtra.
