Prafulla Roy is a well-known Bengali author. He was born on September 11, 1934, in Dhaka. He is a very down-to-earth man, and travelled all over the country to see and experience the struggles of people. He wrote about the struggles of the people at that time. His flawless writing and sensitive expressions gained him much recognition. He was perfect at projecting the real hardships of people who were neglected by society. His first book was Purva Parvati. He has written over 150 books which made a huge impact on society. Some of his books include Keya Patar Nauka, Uttal Samayer Itikatha, and Nona Jol Mithe Mati. He won several prestigious awards for his works such as Bankim Puroskar, Sahitya Academy Award, Bhuwalka Puroskar, and Matilal Puroskar.
