Fazle Lohani, a Bangladesh Journalist, is a television host, songwriter, and film producer. The famous journalist was born to Abu Lohani and Fatema Lohani. He was born on the 12th of March 1929 at Village Kaulia in Sirajganj, Bengal Presidency ( British India). His father was a member of “The Bengal Muslim Literary Society, and his mother was a teacher. Coming from the background of a literary family, he gained knowledge about West Bengal culture and Literature. He studied at Presidency College. After that, he got admitted to Dhaka University for his higher studies. Being good in English and Bengali, he joined Dainik Sangbad as founder and joint editor in 1951.
After working as a journalist, he went to England and worked for BBC. A news magazine show Jodi Kichhu Mone Na Koren in the Bengali language is one of the best works. This show starred famous personalities such as AFM, Abdul Ali Lalu, and Hanif Sanket, a renowned media personality in Bangladesh. It was aired on Bangladesh television from 1977 to 1985. This show is still remembered by the people of Bangladesh and aired for six years until his death.
His achievements include publishing a weekly newspaper named “The Purbabangla” from Dhaka. In 1949, he worked on a monthly magazine of Literature and culture, “The Agatya”. As a producer, he owned a film called “Pension.” He participated as one of the leaders in the 1952 Language Movement and wrote a renowned poem called Ekusher Kobita.
