Aveek Sarkar is an Indian newspaper promoter and author. He was born on June 9, 1945, in Kolkata, India. He completed his graduation from the University of Calcutta. He loved expressing himself through his work, so he started writing books. Later, he worked in a newspaper agency, and after a few years, he became the Chief Editor of the ABP Group of publications. He is the Chairman of the Press Trust of India. He was also the editor-in-chief of Anandabazar Patrika and The Telegraph. Aveek was among the most important people during the formation of Penguin India and its Indian counterpart, Penguin Books. Aveek has strong opinions on several issues, but he avoids adding any of them to his writing.
