Born on 24th July 1934, in Dirburgh, Kolkata, Sudhir Sen was a singer in the Indian film industry. His parents were Sailesh Chandra Sen and Lily Sen. His siblings were Prithwish Sen, Gauri Sen, Sunil Sen, and Arun Sen. He went to Kolkata to pursue music after passing the matric examination as he was interested in music from a young age. He used to attend classical music competitions in his school days. While in Kolkata, he started learning music from Pandit Chinmoy Lahiri and Shri. Usha Ranjan Mukherjee. He worked predominantly in Bengali and Hindi language films and received several awards from the government of west Bengal.
