Anjan Chowdhury Pintu is a film Producer and Industrialist from Bangladesh, born on 17th July, 1954 . His father was Samson H. Chowdhury who is the founder of the Bangladeshi conglomerate Square Group. He is one of the main stakeholders a Bangladeshi business conglomerate, which is involved in pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, security services, textiles, toiletries & cosmetics, information technology, aviation, healthcare, banking and television broadcasting. He finished his degree in Management from the University of South Florida. He was he was a member of Bangladesh Liberation Force and also took part as a Freedom Fighter in The Liberation War of Bangladesh, 1971.
He was one of the many trained commandos at the Chakrata, Dehradun cantonment in India during the war. The Government of Bangladesh recognized him as a Commercially Important Person as he continuously contributes to the economic development of the country since 2005. He is also acclaimed to be one of the highest tax-payer of Bangladesh from 2008 onwards. He is engaged with different ventures under Square Group, which includes Maasranga Television, Square Food & Beverages Limited, Square Toiletries Limited, Square Air Limited, and Mediacom Limited.
He has expanded his business with some other ventures as well, known as Sun Communication Limited, SUN Technologies Limited, Oracle Travels, VISION Technologies Limited, Aegis Services Limited, Sun Distribution and many more. Anjan is an Independent University Member of the Education, Science, Technology and Cultural Development Trust in Bangladesh. He is the President of Annoda Gobinda Public Library in Pabna and the Chairman of Society for the Promotion of Bangladesh Art. He has also contributed to sports through his positions for the Councilor of Bangladesh Football Federation, Vice President of Bangladesh Olympic Association, and a member of the Kurmitola Golf Club Executive Board.
His professional recognitions include his achievements being the President of Aviation Operators Association of Bangladesh, President of Association of Television Channel Owners, the former president of Bangladesh Agro Processors Association, Bangladesh Toiletries and Cosmetic Association, the Chairman of Micro Industries Development Assistance and Services, and Chairman of Sun Foundation and Sun Communications Ltd. He won the Best Producer Award in the 34th National Film Awards The National Film Awards gets presented every year >> Read More... , Bangladesh for the year 2011, for the feature film ’Monpura,’ by the Ministry of Culture, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Later he also received the 45th National Film Award in 2020 for the film ‘Bishwoshundori’ under his production company named Sun Music and Motion Pictures Ltd. He won more than seven Best producer awards for several categories. His mystery drama ‘Hawa’ released in 2022 received significant recognition world-wide.
