Ranajoy Bhattacharjee is a lyricist, music director, and singer of Indian origin. He was born in Kolkata in the state of West Bengal. Ranajoy's passion for music was evident from an early age. He received formal training in Indian Classical Music and Nazrul Geeti. Although his primary focus was on obtaining degrees in statistics and computer science and securing a job in the IT industry, which he didn't particularly enjoy, he eventually decided to leave his job and relocate to Mumbai in 2014. He won, for the film Sweater, the Best Music Album at the Filmfare Awards, while the Best Lyrics award went to Preme Pora Baron.
At the Mirchi Music Awards, Preme Pora Baron was recognized as the Film Song of the Year, and Sweater was named Film Album of the Year. Ranajoy Bhattacharjee won the Film Music Composer of the Year award and the Film Lyricist of the Year award. In addition, Preme Pora Baron won the Upcoming Male Vocalist of the Year award, and he was recognized as the Upcoming Music Composer, Lyricist, and Lyricist of the Year, respectively. At the Tele Cine Awards, the Best Lyrics award was also given to Preme Pora Baron. Finally, at the Film and Frame Digital Film Awards, the Best Lyrics award was once again given to Preme Pora Baron.
